RCD Residual Current Devices
RCDs or residual current devices are a safety feature designed to reduce the probability of electric shocks occurring in your home or premises.
Our licensed and experienced team regularly install RCDs around Joondalup and Perth’s northern suburbs.
RCDs automatically cut the power if a fault occurs with the wiring system, someone touches a live electrical part, or a faulty appliance is used.
Minimum of 2 RCDs

At least two RCDs are required by law if you rent or sell your property.
We can separate circuits within your property allowing some lights and power points to remain working even when power to a faulty circuit is cut.
RCDs are also required to be tested at least every three months. This can be done by the homeowner or landlord simply by pressing the test button to confirm that the RCD is working correctly.
Homes built from 2000 should already be compliant with two or more RCDs installed. Our team are happy to help check this for you if you are not sure. We can also offer free quotes to install your RCDs and ensure you are compliant with the law. Check the WA government RCD fact sheet.

From the first contact phone call with Adam to the finished install, we were both very happy with Adam.Our install was... for two 7KW cooling and 8KW heating Mitsubishi Heavy Industries split system inverters (SRK71ZRA-W), one for upstairs, and one for downstairs. The downstairs unit was to be installed on an internal partition wall in the centre of the home (So we required the condensate/ drain water to be pumped up into our roof space, and around 25mtrs to an outside wall using a condensate pump, which was a "Mini Orange" pump mounted inside the pipe trunking next to the unit).The upstairs split system was to be mounted over a two storey stairwell, and the condensate drain was run to the ground floor wall around 20 metres away. The install required Adam to work from a scaffolding plant over the stairwell to reach the unit.Adam was not at all worried about using a condensate pump (We had two other quotes from installers who did not want to install if we needed a condensate drain pump, and they had never installed units requiring that kind of pump as they avoid the effort or learning curve required to be able to do the work), Adam was also happy even though we also wanted both outside units of the splits to be ground mounted at the other end of our two storey home.He had an offsider to assist with the install, and it took them both two full days in mid 30's heat during December of 2019 in MIndarie WA to get the two units in and running.All up, Adam is certainly not the cheapest sparky to use, but he is very honest, trustworthy and reliable and his workmanship is great. I would not hesitate to use him again (We will be installing further spilt systems), nor would we hesitate to recommend him to anyone else either.Thanks for a great install Adam 🙂read more
